VOTE NO

HAMPSTEAD ON NOV 24

HUNDREDS OF NEW CARS THROUGH HAMPSTEAD? CAN WE HANDLE THIS? READ ON ...

On NOV 24, Hampstead residents will be voting YES or NO to allow the first of many proposed high rise projects on Cote-St-Luc road.

The majority of the current tenants use public transportation. The new luxury projects will attract multiple car owning families.

WE ARE VOTING NO BECAUSE:

  1. THERE IS NO TRAFFIC STUDY. The traffic created by the proposed redevelopment of CSL Rd, will further clog our streets - longer traffic jams, more cars, more pollution. Increased congestion forever. Who needs that?
  2. The developers are designing our future, but their vision is only focused on their own profit, not with the future of our community. Mayor Steinberg described the proposed building as “the most important development in Hampstead’s history.” he said. IMPORTANT: This is the start of a rezoning plan for the whole block.
  3. Does the Mayor even care care about the interests of the residents impacted by these projects? Whose interests will be trampled next?

The Mayor has made it clear: if this project goes through, the City anticipates 5-6 more high rise project requests in the next 2 years. OUR VOTE WILL SET THE PRECEDENT.

THESE PROJECTS COULD RUIN OUR QUIET STREETS AND PEACEFUL HAMPSTEAD LANDSCAPE.

We deserve to know what the implications will be for existing Hampstead residents.
